As a marketing intern, I helped produce, shoot, and edit several promos for KXAN's programs and on-screen talent. Each promo had distinct challenges, and I got to get hand-on with different parts in the process.
For the Podcast promo, I helped set up a portable rig to track camera movements to the on-screen logos, and I used Mocha tracking software to track the screens on shots where the rig couldn't be used. I also helped scout for locations across Austin.
For the Back to School promos, I helped set up and operate equipment on the day of the shoot. The next day, I combed through raw footage of each anchor's interviews, and picked out selects to compile into four different themed segments.
Finally, for the Investigative promo, we had to coordinate with the schedules of each member of the Investigative team. We also transported all of the marketing department's equipment up to Chase/Procore Tower in Downtown Austin in order to get the final shot of the team with the skyline in the background.
I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to work alongside the talent on the Marketing team, and I learned a ton shadowing them over the course of the summer.
Here's a compilation of projects i've made in TouchDesigner, which is a node-based programming environment used to create realtime 2D and 3D visuals for live events and installations.
I've included the patch as a zip folder, in case you'd like to try it out! (You can run it on the trial version of Max, although saving changes to the patch might be disabled).
I originally built this multi-track sequencer as a final project for my Max/MSP coding course, however, my professor nominated me to present my work at the annual AET departmental showcase.
In addition to the assigned requirement of creating a multi-track step sequencer, I wanted to experiment with some of the features we didn't get to cover in class. For instance, I took advantage of Max's Subpatch feature to quickly embed copies of the instruments within the Main Patch. This allowed me to make copies quickly and make changes across all of the instruments at once. I also used Max's "pattrstorage" to save and recall presets at the instrument and main patch level.
